Why Compete? (see story)
Okay, this is just wrong! It's little league and it's a game. If he's too old or there is some violation of the rules, sure ban him. Being banned because you're too good?
Cheers: Work had and be a great player.
Jeers: Banning players for being too good. Boo! St. Athanasius. Hmm? What if he played for one of your teams? What if you had a kid in your league that was "too dominate?" What then? Does your church league raise a stink over descrimination if little bans your player?
How convenient, anytime an outside player is so good your teams can't win, just ban them. If the MLB did this? Hey, Mr. Clemens, you're just too good, we have to ban you now. If we let you play, we can't win. Well, Duh! What is the message you're sending to the kids, St. Athanasius? Be mediocre, it's okay. The Church doesn't want you to lose, so we'll just eliminate the competition for you. Never mind training harder. Anytime you run up against anyone with talent, we'll ban them for you. At that rate, don't bother keeping score.
Here's what I recommend: Spend less time complaining, less time banning good players and spend more time in the batting cages!
