Don't do the Crime if you Can't do the Time!

About ten years ago in California, a "Three Strikes" law was passed. Essentially, convicted repeat offenders would face lengthy or life sentences. In practice, offenders convicted of relatively minor crimes are facing lengthy sentences because of the number of convictions on their record. Now there are people who want to defend these repeat offenders.

Boo-freaking-Hoo! Oops, you did it again! I understand if you've made a mistake. I especially feel badly for you if had an unfair trial or were wrongly convicted. However, if you stole the toolbox or did the drugs, then you were being naughty, got caught and now you've got to do your time. AND in the State of California, if you've been convicted two times before, you're facing a serious sentence if it's you're third time in court.

I kind of understand if you think the punishment is disproportionate to your crime, BUT you're a jackass if you think you don't deserve it! You knew you had a criminal record! You broke the law, got caught and convicted two times before SO maybe you don't need to steal that toolbox. Maybe, just maybe, you ought to be watching your "P's and Q's" from here on out.

Take some personal responsibility! Here's an idea: Don't steal! Don't do drugs!
