Honorary Mayor of Buena Vista Street

Mommy and K had the Girl Scout awards day. The troop had a special princess day with nails, make up, hair, and dress up, followed by dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory. (More details later) So it was a Father / Son day at DCA.
Look who got to be the Honorary Mayor of Buena Vista street! It was "e." About six months ago we were at DCA and K was selected. She felt so special. It was quite an exciting day. Unfortunately, they only select one child a day. Ever since, e has been hoping to be selected mayor. We tried to explain to him that it's random and there is no way to reserve it or arrange it and that the only way he could be mayor was to show up and hope for the best.
Talk about being in the right place at the right time, amazingly enough he got chosen. We could have chosen DLR last Saturday, but with e hoping to be mayor we decided to try our luck at DCA. He holds up the key to the city and opens the park. He signs the Red Car Trolley log book and gets a private ride / parade to Carthay Circle.
He even gets a specially embroidered ear hat to commemorate the day.
He makes a special wish on behalf of everyone in the park today.
And... if you ask him, the best part is getting an ice cream sundae for being mayor.

Curt, the CM conductor, selected e to be mayor for the day. He said he or another conductor could show e how to run the red car trolley. We returned later that day to get a special tour.

Our day together couldn't have been more special. Simply put, e declared, "It's the best day ever!"
