Update

We've been lax in the blogging department recently, so here is an update....

In The Box

K has finally discovered boxes.  They are now great places to hide, crawl, and pound walls.  As a result, we have not tossed the boxes for the climbing toy and the kitchen.  She has too much fun with them!

Dancing Toddler

K LOVES music.  She can't get enough of it.  She always wants us to turn on her toys that play music or at least play some background music.  She then dances up a storm.  It is so incredibly cute.  However, the minute the camera comes out, the dancing stops.  You have NO IDEA how much video I had to attempt to take before I could finally get her to dance while the camera was around.  She then promptly refused to dance again until the camera went away, whereupon she began dancing up a storm again....so frustrating!

Play Time
The whirlwind of life with a toddler, go, go, go, and then go some more!  Here she is playing with some of her new toys.  Bet you can guess what her favorite feature on the kitchen is (and our least favorite).  Did you guess? (the removable sink)

The last segment is some video of K's first real word.  She's been saying words that have meaning some of the time since about 8 months, but she's made the same sounds as babbling too (for example: saying da-da for Daddy with obvious intent, but also babbling it in the store or walking down the hall with no connection to Daddy at all), so we've never counted them as her first word.  K has now mastered the Mandarin word "gou" which is "dog".  She never uses it except when she sees Kona, hears Kona, or wants Kona.  She's been using it for about a month now.  We count this as her first real word.  You can't see Kona in the video, but she was laying down on the other side of the couch and K could see her.  She doesn't have the tone right yet, but we'll work on that!

Wish everyone could be around to watch her grow.  She changes so much every day.

For those interested:
Our 2nd OB appt was last Thursday.  Little Sib is doing great; growing right on schedule with a hb in the 160-170 bpm range.  Mommy is still tired and is having horrible headaches, but no complications.  We have an ultrasound on Feb 4.  Hopefully Little Sib will cooperate and we'll know the gender then!
