Too many potty breaks!
Kids, little or otherwise need to use the restroom from time to time. Okay. Schools, all schools, schedule recesses. In a perfect world, the kids would use the restroom during recess AND many kids do. Unfortunately, there are some kids who would much rather play. As shocking as it may sound, there are actually kids who ask to use the restroom frivolously. Imagine this scenario: "Okay kids, time to learn about the parts of speech for the upcoming federally mandated testing., which satisfies the 'No Child Left Behind' bureaucrats. What? Johnny? Oh, you need to use the restroom? We just got in from recess! Do you really have to go right now? Well, if you say so. Please hurry."
I just don't understand these parents! Here is what it seems they are asking for: Academics come second to recess. They are saying that if a child must use the restroom during instruction, that child should NOT be made to make up the work during the scheduled recess. In essence, instruction is not as important as playtime!
